Power Pole Relocation for the Staffords
When Jason and Darinda Stafford realized their power pole was sitting on their neighbor’s property, they knew it needed to be moved, but had no idea how involved it might get. Permits. Utility coordination. Major electrical work. It sounded complicated. They just wanted it done right. They called Matthews Lighting & Electric, and got way more than they expected. From the first visit, the Staffords could tell they were in good hands. Fred and Parker arrived on time, walked through every detail, and gave them a full quote on the spot. No delays. No waiting. No confusion. The game plan was clear and simple: install a new 20-foot permanent pole, a new meter base with a 200A disconnect, two ground rods, lifetime surge protection, and a new POA for GA Power. Everything, including the permits and inspection, would be handled, all on the same day. Darinda later told us how much she appreciated the crew’s professionalism, but also their kindness and attitude throughout.

Therapy Pool Electrical System for the Harters
When George H. reached out to Matthews Lighting & Electric, it wasn’t just a backyard upgrade, it was a personal investment in wellness. He was installing a therapy pool, and he needed it powered safely and correctly. The job was technical, but what mattered most to George was that the people doing the work cared as much as he did. That’s exactly what he got. The Matthews Lighting team made it clear that he was in good hands. He later told us how much he appreciated not just the thoroughness of the work, but the kindness, the way the crew respected his space, and how comfortable they made the whole process feel. What started as a technical job quickly became something more. We didn’t just earn George’s trust, we made a friend. We still see him now and then, and it always brings back that project with pride.

The Hernandez’s Story
Seven years ago, the Hernandez family purchased their dream home in Rome, GA. As part of the sale, the seller agreed to one major update: a brand-new electrical panel. For years, things seemed fine. That is, until a faint burning smell started drifting from the dining room. It wasn’t strong, but it was constant. Concerned, they called Matthews Lighting & Electric. What we found was alarming. Though the panel had been replaced, it had been installed with shocking carelessness. The poorly secured main wires, a dangerously loose neutral connection, and cracked insulation brought fire issues lurking at the door. The outlet had already begun melting.
